Care and Fitting

How to take care of your jewellery

Sophie makes every piece by hand using metals like bronze, copper, gilding metal (similar to brass), brass, silver and gold.

Some pieces are highly polished, some have patina or are oxidised (special colour treatment).

Silver jewellery pieces are provided with an anti-tarnish patch set within the jewellery box and also come with a silver polishing cloth to revive them, whenever needed.

All pieces will tarnish naturally when not worn. However you can follow those simple steps to keep them as pristine as possible.

  • keep your jewellery away from water activity (bathing, swimming, washing) and humidity in general;

  • avoid direct contact with perfumes, lotions or other chemicals;

  • after wear, place your jewellery piece back in the pouch provided, which contains a black anti-tarnish patch to limit oxidation through time.

Fitting

Bangles

All bangles currently available in the shop are fully closed (soldered seam) and rigid. It is therefore important to know if your hand will fit through before ordering to avoid disappointment.

To find out if you will be able to pass your hand through, measure the width of your palm flat with a ruler as shown on the photo and refer to the table of measurements (cm and inches).

Necklaces and pendants

The photo below illustrates how the various lengths of chains sit on the chest.
